The Magical Gate (マジカルゲート, Majikaru Gēto?) is a virtual reality experience space designed specifically for children, developed by Dr. Arisugawa. It exists within the World Link as a digital theme park exclusively for kids, where their dreams and imaginations come to life. It serves as a global hub for children to interact, communicate, and explore a limitless world of possibilities.
Access to the Magical Gate is granted through Plug Terminals (プラグターミナル, Puragu Tāminaru?) scattered throughout cities. By connecting a specialized controller to these terminals; a process known as Plug It (プラグイット, Puragu Itto?), children can transfer their consciousness into the virtual world.
The Magical Gate consists of a three-layer structure, centered around the Magical Station. Each layer contains various themed areas where children can play, socialize, and explore without barriers. A universal translation system ensures that language differences do not hinder communication, allowing kids from all over the world to interact freely. Additionally, physical objects from the real world can be digitally replicated and brought into the virtual space.
Since the system is specifically calibrated for children's consciousness data, it appears completely different to adults. Generally, adults are prohibited from entering, except in emergency situations where they must wear a Diver Suit for consciousness protection. However, access is limited to a specific age range; preschoolers, middle schoolers, and high schoolers are not allowed to enter.
